Berekum Chelsea midfielder Gladson Awako will fly to Congo to undergo a medical with TP Mazembe on Friday, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The four-time African champions have agreed a deal to sign the former Ghana youth international from the 2010 Ghanaian League champions.

If the 21-year-old passes health checks this weekend, then the club must wait on a work permit application prior to completing his signing.

‘He (Gladson Awako) will leave for TP Mazembe on Friday where he will be expected to undergo medical,” Chelsea Chief Executive Nana Kwame Nketiah told GHANAsoccernet.com

“If everything goes on successfully, he will officially join the Congolese side.”

The Ravens have completed the massive coup, just days after signing Asante Kotoko top class midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei.

The potential of the exciting former Heart of Lions pocket size midfielder has never been doubt since he emerged on the local scene and his departure will be a massive blow to Chelsea fans.

He was a member of the Ghana’s Under-20 team that clinched Africa’s first ever gold medal at the 2009 World Youth Championship held in Egypt.
