Goalkeeper Kingson assured of Ghana future

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson has been assured of his future with the Black Stars despite being axed for the match against Sudan this weekend.

For the first time in five years the shot-stopper was left out of the team which has prompted speculation about Kingson’s future.

Kingson is looking for a club after Blackpool released him at the end of last season as Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has warned that inactive players have no chance in the squad.

With the arrival of Adam Kwarasey, Kingson's future with the Black Stars has been questioned by many but goalkeepers’ trainer Eddie Ansah insists the long-serving shot-stopper can make a return.

"The coach made it clear to certain players that if they didn't find a club, it would very be difficult for them to get the opportunity to play for Ghana," Ansah told All Sport newspaper.

"The fact that he has not been called up doesn't mean he has no future with the Black Stars. He still has a future with the Black Stars."

Norway-based goalkeeper Kwarasey was in post for the Black Stars in their matches against Swaziland and Brazil and he excelled.
