Soulama Abdoulaye returns to action for Kotoko

Kotoko goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye played his first match for the club on Sunday in the MTN Ghana FA Cup triumph after last month’s accusation that he took bribe in their embarrassing CAF Champions League exit.

The Burkina Faso international was between the sticks when Kotoko suffered a 1-0 defeat against BYC to exit the continent’s flagship event on the away goal rule.

Abdoulaye was alleged to have pocketed US$ 3,000 from the Liberian side and gifted them the goal which sent them through after losing the first leg 2-1 in Kumasi.

He vehemently denied it and vowed never to play again for the club unless his name was cleared.

Abdoulaye seems to have forgotten about the incident and was in post when Kotoko laboured to beat second-tier side Istanbul 3-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium in the round 16 clash.
