Granada are seeking for an alternative for suspended Mubarak Wakaso ahead of their La Liga clash against Sporting de Gijón on Sunday.

The 26-year-old is frozen out after being shown the exit in their 1-0 defeat at home to Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish side are trying frenetically to overturn the decision but appears any attempt will be inn vain.

Coach Lucas Alcaraz is already planning for life without the Ghana international ahead of their trip to Sporting Gijo.

It will be difficult to replace Wakaso given that he has become an almost indispensable piece in the scheme of the coach since he arrived in the winter.

His physical strength and character within the green has been, is and will be very important for Granada CF.

Sergi Samper is expected to replace the suspended the midfielder as he makes a return to the team.
