Greek Super League giants Olympiakos Piraeus and Panathinaikos are both plotting to sign Ghana star Christian Atsu on loan from Chelsea when the summer transfer window opens next month.

Everton are certain to send back the 23-year-old to the Stamford Bridge after Sunday's final games of the Barcleys Premier League season.

Atsu could not flourish at the Goodison Park after arriving on loan from Chelsea before the start of the season, making just five league appearances for Roberto Martinez's side.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has already resolved to send the former FC Porto starlet on another loan spell with Dutch and German sides keen to sign him.

But the newest contender to join the race for Atsu's signature is Olympiakos who are seeking to improve their squad for next season's European campaign.

Olympiakos boss Vitor Pereira believes Atsu was misused at Everton and can bring the best out of him at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki.

However, they must beat competition from home-rivals Panathinaikos who have also outlined their interest in signing the winger who won Best Player Award at the 2015 AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Olympiakos have already secured a spot in next season's Uefa Champions League after winning the league title while Panathinaikos are fighting to secure a place in the play-offs.

Atsu is highly linked with a return to Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.
