Guinea fires Nations Cup warning to Ghana

Guinea now have the opportunity to inflict pain and misery on Ghana just like they did to Nigeria at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Both teams have been drawn in Group D alongside Mali and debutants Botswana and would be based in the Gabonese city of Franceville.

The Black Stars needed a late Sulley Muntari strike to beat the Syli National the last time both sides played each other in the African Cup in 2008 which Ghana hosted.

And after sending Nigeria into a state of mourning for denying the Super Eagles qualification to next year's finals, Ghana is next on Guinea's hit list as earlier warned by their technical director, Sheriff Souleymane.

“We have been building a team for some time now so I wasn’t surprised at what we did against Nigeria,” the 1972 African Player of the Year told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“You saw what happened when we last played against Ghana in the African Cup?

“I can assure you they (Ghana) will suffer even more when we meet again in the Nations Cup, even more than Nigeria.

“We are very much prepared and do not fear anybody, including Ghana so everyone should just watch out for Guinea in the tournament.”

The epic clash would be both team's final group game to be played late January in Franceville.
