Asamoah Gyan is the leading scorer in the Asian Champions League

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has dedicated his hot scoring form in the AFC Asian Champions League campaign to his Al Ain teammates.

The Black Stars captain stretched his lead at the top of the goalscorer’s chart to 12 in Al Ain’s heroic victory at Al Ittihad on Tuesday night which sealed the UAE giants’ place in the semi finals.

Gyan will however be heavily relied upon to deliver the goods once more again when Al Ain return to Saudi Arabia to face Al Hilal in the first leg of the last four contest.

But the ex Sunderland hitman remains grateful to his club teammates for helping him achieve greatness in the competition.

“I feel thrilled to be the tournament’s top scorer. I am very heartened by this feat,” he said.

“I am top scorer with my fellow players.”

Gyan has since left the UAE to partake in a UNAIDS awareness campaign – Protecting the Goal – in Malawi.
