Captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed he had very limited time to consult his Black Stars colleagues about making a donation to the Black Queens.

The Shanghai SIPG ace donated $10,000 to the national women’s team upon being told of the financial difficulties of the team.

The Black Queens are in Congo to compete in the 2015 All Africa Games.

The team of players and officials had the chance to interact with Asamoah Gyan in Brazzaville as the Black Stars were also in the country to play a friendly match against Congo.

Gyan, known for his generosity immediately donated $10,000 from his personal funds to the team.

The Black Stars usually make such donations as a team and not on individual basis.

But the striker explained he needed to make the donation without consulting his Black Stars teammates due to limited time.

"We are all Ghanaians and when you see your colleague in need then you just have to volunteer and help," he said.

"We got the message very late so I couldn't get the time to talk to my colleagues.

"So I decided to do it on my own."
