Gyan fit to start against Botswana - Stevanovic

Coach Goran Stevanovic is adamant Asamoah Gyan is fit enough to lead the lines for Ghana in the opening Group D game against Botswana.

The Al Ain striker has just recovered from a hamstring but there are fears he is not match fit and is being rushed to start against the Zebras on Tuesday.

However Stevanovic who has been entrusted with Ghana’s charge to end a 30-year wait for an African title insists his leading marksman is good to go.

“Yes he is ready. Gyan is very important for us. He needed to rest for four weeks but he stayed out for 10 to 12 days.

“He has recovered very soon and I think he is ready for a start.”
