Asamoah Gyan has described Mubarak Wakasoââ¬â¢s wonder strike in the 3-1 win over Togo as simply ââ¬Ëfantasticââ¬â¢ as he watched in amazement on the Ghana bench as the 30-yard strike flew in.
The Celtic star stunned Togo goalkeeper Kossi Agassa in an unexpected 30-yard belter to put Ghana two up before the break.
The Black Stars eventually won the game 3-1 to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations as Group E winners.
But most of the talks have circulated around Wakasoââ¬â¢s wonder strike.
The Celtic star has struggled for form with the Black Stars in recent times and his celebration after his belter flew in depicted the importance of the goal to him.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan who appeared astonished on the bench [didnââ¬â¢t play due to injury] as he watched the scorcher ââ¬Ëenter the netââ¬â¢ struggled to find the right words to describe the wonder strike.
ââ¬ÅIt was a fantastic goal,â⬠he said of the strike.
ââ¬ÅNo one expected him to strike the ball at that point. I was even shouting on the bench that he should pass the ball because there were movements.
ââ¬ÅBut he struck it and he scored a fantastic goal.ââ¬
Wakaso became the main man for the Black Stars when he emerged in grand style during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he was Ghanaââ¬â¢s top goalscorer.
But a move to Russian to join Rubin Kazan has proved counterproductive for the development of his young career.
His loan move to Scotland with Celtic is thus expected to help him regain his top form in time to help Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
