Ghana's top scorer at the Nations Cup, Asamoah Gyan, says he is not keen on winning the tournament's Golden Shoe Award but has his eyes on lifting the trophy.
The Rennes forward has bagged in three goals in four matches and has one goal less than Egypt's Mohammed 'Gedo' Nagy.
"As a striker everybody will be expecting at least a goal from you so what I have to do is to help my team to win and that is all. I am not thinking about scoring. We are playing as a team-if the opportunity comes for me to score, I will score to make my team win," Gyan said.
The 24-year-old who nearly packed out from Ghana's camp after being heavily criticised at the last championship on home soil because of his profligacy, is happy his newly found form has won back the fans.
"What happened in 2008 is past-we are in 2010. Although I felt bad two years ago but I'm a strong man. Am mentality strong. What happened it really worried my career but as a strong man you just keep on going," he added.
"I believe in my quality and I know what I can do on the field. When am 100% fit I know myself. I don't think I have any problem now.
"Am scoring for my club and you all seeing here, I'm also scoring for my country as well. I think for now they(fans) are happy back home and they know what am doing for my country so am ready to play anytime."
