SuperSport United coach Cavin Johnson has revealed Ghana midfielder Edwin Gyimah will need a few more weeks to make a return from injury.

The versatile Black Stars player twisted his ankle in last month’s 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates in the South African top flight.

Reports have since been made of the 22-year-old’s imminent return to help Matsatsantsa’s campaing both home and in Africa.

But coach Johnson says the Ghanaian is some way off towards making a full recovery.

"Edwin is still some way off," Johnson told Goal.

"He twisted his ankle badly and that should take him weeks before returning to the team. "He hasn't started training with the rest of the team, and we just have to continue without him for the next few weeks.”

Gyimah will be hoping for a quick return in order to catch the eye of Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah who is in the process of assembling his squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
