The agent of South Africa-based midfielder Edwin Gyimah says he is not aware of any interest from South Africa giants Orlando Pirates in the Ghanaian after his impressive outing in the country's top-flight last season.
Reports in the South African media indicates that Orlando Pirates are looking at adding SuperSport United midfielder-cum-defender Gyimah in their books.
Gyimahââ¬â¢s agent, Mike Makaab of ProSport International, however told the Siya crew that there has been no formal approach from Pirates for the Ghana midfielder.
ââ¬ÅI have heard about the rumour linking Edwin to Orlando Pirates, but I can confirm that Iââ¬â¢ve not had any talks with the club with regards to him joining them,â⬠Makaab told the Siya crew.
ââ¬ÅIn any case, Edwin has a long term-contract with SuperSport and if Pirates want him, then they have to talk to them first. Itââ¬â¢s only when the two clubs have agreed, that I will be involved,â⬠added Makaab.
Gyimah made 22 starts and one substitute appearance for Matsatsantsa a Pitori last season, and remains an integral part of the SuperSport team.
However, a source close to him told the crew that the 23-year-old Ghanaian player wants to move to a bigger club to increase his chances of getting a national team call-up.
Gyimah, who played for Wa All Stars in Ghana before moving to South Africa, could get his wish if Pirates and SuperSport agree on a deal.
