Hamburg captain Johan Djourou offers West Ham, Crystal Palace encouragement

Hamburg captain Johan Djourou has offered transfer encouragement to West Ham.

The Swiss defender has been linked with the Hammers this week.

And Djourou admits he's likely to leave HSV at the end of this season.

"I am and remain professional. But I still have three months left. And I still have a deal. Playing for HSV is something special," Djourou told Aargauer Zeitung.

"The club has committed two central defenders. That is why I wanted to leave in January. I had deals. They said, 'No, we need you. You're so important!' And then I do not play anyway."

Crystal Palace were blocked by HSV from signing Djourou in January.
