Hamburg manager Markus Gisdol laments Gideon Jung red card ban

Hamburg manager Markus Gisdol feels the two-game given to Gideon Jung for his red card in the 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga is 'excessively harsh'.

The 23-year-old was shown a straight red card for his reckless challenge on Kingsley Coman at the Volksparkstadion.

The DFB Sports Tribunal has decided to crack down hard on the youngster by slapping him with the additional ban.

But Hamburg manager Markus Gisdol insists the sanction is harsh.

"He went in hard. But he didn't go in with a bad intention. It is a clear yellow card and that was it,"said HSV coach Markus Gisdol.

The Ghanaian youngster will miss the Bundesliga game at Mainz 05 on Friday.
