Mamelodi Sundowns travelled to Zambia for four-team tournament without injured Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila.

The centre-back suffered a hamstring pull during Sundowns’ last league match against Maritzburg United last month.

He was withdrawn after 21 minutes in the match which they drew 2-2 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Sumaila has been a regular for the Brazilians since joining at the start of the season from Asante Kotoko where he was on loan from Ebusua Dwarfs.

The Ghana international made 12 appearances for Pitso Mosimane’s side in the Absa Premiership before the break.
