Ghana defender Harrison Afful has signed a three-year contract extension with African champions Esperance, MTNFootball can exclusively reveal.

The versatile player's initial three-year contract with the Blood and Gold expired last Saturday.

Afful moved to the Tunis-based side in 2009 and scored the only goal which won them the CAF Champions League trophy last year.

The 26-year-old is hoping to have successful spells with the North African side.

''I'm very happy to renew my contract and am looking forward to win the Champions League again.

"I had a lot of offers but all was just talk but Esperance were serious so I had to take the decision."

Afful was a member of the Ghana squad in last month's double-header against Lesotho and Zambia in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
