Three Ghanaians were named in Caf's ten-man shortlist for the African Player of the Year award.

Striker Asamoah Gyan, winger Andre Ayew and controversial Kevin Prince-Boateng were among the players named.

But the shortlisting of Boateng has sparked some controversy with some saying he is no longer a Ghanaian after retiring from the Black Stars.

But the midfielder has beeen in good form for AC Milan, winning the league title in Italy but did not play much for Ghana this year.
