Striker Asamoah Gyan scored from the spot for Al Ain to keep them at the top of the UAE Pro League but has recently missed for the Black Stars.

His miss in the Nations Cup semi-final against Zambia last month earned him a lot of criticisms.

At the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals, he smashed a last minute spot-kick into the cross-bar in the quarter-final against Uruguay.

Gyan has been undeterred and gone on to score a couple for his club side.
