Hearts begin revival under Akunnor with away win over Aduana

Hearts of Oak secured their first win under new coach CK Akonnor on Sunday when an own goal at Aduana Stars helped them to a 1-0 victory on Sunday.

The Phobians returned to winning ways at the Agyemang Badu Park after they were gifted with the lead by defender Emmanuel Akuoko in the away game.

The win will certainly calm the nerves of coach C.K. Akunnor with the ex-Ghana international declining to comment about their victory.

It was his first victory since losing his opening game for the Phobians in their match against Liberty Professionals last week.

Aduana's Akuoko saw Sadat Karim's attempt go off his body to beat goalkeeper Celestine Damptey.

Hearts are now 10 points off rivals, Asante Kotoko, who scored a late goal to draw at home with eight games remaining.

The Phobians face Wa All Stars on Sunday in Accra.
