Board and management member of Accra Hearts of Oak Alhaji Brimah Akanbi has rubbished reports that he was nearly lynched after their 1-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.

Local media reports were that the tireless management member who has been in the dirty books of the club's teaming fans invited the anger of some of the fans who were disappointed by the side's loss after the game.

The reports further highlighted that Alhaji Akanbi was whisked away by the available security that saved him from the angry fans.

But the unhappy Hearts man says those reports are frivolous, untrue and are calculated to create disunity in the club.

"It's never true that I was nearly attacked. Our fans respect me as a board and management member and never threatened to beat me," Alhaji told Ghanasoccernet.com

"The only scene that was created was when we felt the referee had denied us what we saw as a clean penalty. I poured out my frustration and Oduro Sarfo, a management member of Berekum Chelsea teased me with that and we all laughed.

"So nothing like an attack or a near-lynching was experienced," he added.

Alhaji Akanbi, who was the former Chairman of the National Chapters Committee and now a board member of the club has also been an active management member whose contribution for the club has been immensely tremendous.
