Hearts of Oak coach CK Akunnor wants to make in-form striker Emmanuel Baffoe his first signing when the season ends.

Baffoe, 22, has been a long term target of the capital-based side after turning in an impressive display in the country’s top-flight league this term.

The youngster has wracked up 19 goals in 22 matches to emerge as the runaway goal king of the season with six games remaining.

Coach Akunnor is reported to be a key admirer of the ex-Liberty Professionals attacker and wants to sign him to partner Mahatma Otoo next season with the title race appearing to be over for the capital-based side.

“There is a renewed interest for Baffoe with the backing of the coach,” a source close to the club is quoted as saying.

“We’ve put in a bid for him and hope we will be successful this time as we are in dire need of a potent striker to partner Mahatma Otoo in attack,”
