Hearts of Oak captain Thomas Abbey believes the NASCO Player of the Month he won for the month of July will motivate him to improve his performances in the Ghana Premier League.

The 24-year-old hard-working midfielder bagged four goals in the month of July coupled with his two man of the match accolades earned him the Ghana Premier League most outstanding player.

According to the former Windy Professionals versatile attacker, the award will enliven him to work above himself for their Phobians in the Ghana Premier League.

“The feeling is great, it’s every players dream to win this award. This will encourage do more so that I can double up my effort as the season nears end,” he told Asempa FM.

Abbey’s form has attracted interest all over with South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns reported to be interested in the player.

Abbey is part of the Black Stars team B is expected to make the trip with the team as the face the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the CHAN qualifiers.

He beat off competition from Elmina Sharks’ player Felix Addo and Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea to win the award.
