Hearts of Oak have opened discussions with David Duncan to become the new coach of the side.

The Phobians are without a substantive coach since the dismissal of CK Akunnor last month.

Negotiations between Hearts’ board and the former AshantiGold trainer who has also coached South African top flight side Free State Stars are now at an advanced stage though no timeline has been given.

“We are still in the process,” Duncan told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Nothing has been confirmed yet. It is more in their (Hearts’) court now so I don’t know how long it will take.”

Hearts have endured a poor start to the Premier League season - winning twice, drawing one and losing three in the six matches played so far.

They next travel to take on rivals Asante Kotoko on November 18 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
