Hearts coach Addo jabs midfielder Hayford over performance
Emmanuel Hayford has come under line of fire

Hearts coach Herbert Addo has lashed out at midfielder Emmanuel Hayford for his poor display in their 1-0 defeat to Heart of Lions in the GHALCA top-four opener.

In an astonishing manner, the former Inter Allies trainer questioned his quality to play for the Accra giants after he missed a couple of glaring chances at the Accra sports stadium.

Herbert Addo lost his first competitive game in charge of the side and was clearly unhappy about the performance of the team after they lost narrowly to the Kpando-based side.

He signaled out Hayford and criticized him for letting the team down.

“Look at Emmanuel Hayford. If you get such chances and you miss, what can I do? he quizzed

“You cannot play for this club with such an attitude on the pitch. You just look at his performance and tell me what you think.

“We teach them tactics and so when they go to the pitch and do their own thing, it’s a source of worry.”

Addo’s public criticism of the player could spark tension between the two of them ahead the side’s return tie against Lions on Wednesday.
