Hearts coach CK Akunnor says his side is focused ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final tie at Ashantigold on Sunday.

The capital-based are keen to earn a major silverware after missing out on the Premier League crown to rivals Asante Kotoko.

They face a daunting task against the miners who are also determined to win the cup and represent the country in the African Confederation Cup next season.

Coach Akunnor who returned to the West African country from South Africa believes his men can scale the hurdle against the Obuasi-based side.

"I must say I'm happy with the news I'm hearing and I congratulate you all for that good performance against Arsenal on the last day of the league,” Akunnor told the club’s official website

“I have also been told how all of you have been respectful to the technical team even in my absence, and that shows that you are disciplined and will take instructions from whoever, provided it will help your cause in the game.

"We are still not done yet as we have this Ashgold match to think about. I can confidently tell you guys that the supporters though content with your position on the league table as well as your recent performances, are not happy that we eventually lost the league after keeping the heat on Asante Kotoko for so long.

"For me, all our good play and performances will go waste if we don't win this FA Cup. For once in our lives this season, let's show the fans that we are Hearts of Oak and we never say die.

"From now till the end we must remain focused and think of ourselves and our future as footballers, and where we want to be in the coming months.

Remember, we still have a shot at continental glory if we win this Cup, and the directors have promised that so let's make hay whilst the sun shines,”
