C.K Akunnor says it is too early to start judging his performance as coach of Hearts of Oak.

The former Ghana captain assumed the position following the dismissal of Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic after a string of poor results.

He however failed to glitter in his first game in charge – losing 1-0 to city rivals Liberty Professionals last weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The lost instantly raised doubts of Akunnor’s capability to turn the fortunes of the Phobians around but he insists he will need more time before that conclusion is arrived at.

“I welcome criticisms, I don’t think it is possible to be coach of Hearts without pressure,” he said.

“But I think it is too early to start judging, maybe after some months maybe a year, people can start making that conclusion.

“But for now we need the support of everyone to return Hearts to its winning days.”

Hearts are currently fourth on the Premier League log with tough games on the horizon.

They travel to play Aduana Stars on Sunday before hosting All Stars the weekend after.

The Phobians will then make the trip to Kumasi to take on leaders Asante Kotoko in the big Ghanaian derby on April 15.
