Hearts of Oak coach CK Akunnor has confirmed he will be splashing the cash to better his side for next season's campaign.

The Phobians fell way short of their chase on rivals Asante Kotoko in pursuit of the Premier League title after a promising start to the season.

Their steep mid-season decline has been mainly attributed to fatigue and the inability to sufficiently replace injured players.

Akunnor is however looking to prevent such a slump by fortifying his team in the offseason to ensure his side is blazing on all fronts for next season's challenge.

"I will be looking to bring in some players to strengthen the side," he said.

"The management has an idea of what I want to do and I believe they are willing to support me in that regard.

"The plan is to ensure that we emerge a much stronger side to survive the whole period of next season."

Hearts currently second on the Premier League log with three matches to go are still in the hunt to win this year's FA Cup competition.
