Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo was in tears while awaiting the return of Thomas Abbey from hospital on Sunday.

The talented midfielder was taken to hospital after reportedly suffering a broken leg during the impressive 3-0 win over Amidaus Professionals.

Coach Polo stayed behind into the night at the Accra Sports Stadium awaiting the return of his midfielder from hospital.

The club legend sobbed as he interacted with Managing Director Neil Armstrong Mortagbe.

Polo’s reaction indicates the solid bond he shares with his players.

The former Ghana forward accused some members of his playing body of sabotage during his rocky start as coach of the Phobians.

The perceived rift between Polo and his players has however died down and with his reaction on Sunday serving enough testament to the current healthy relationship with his players.

The Phobians will therefore be without Abbey for the outstanding Premier League clash against Medeama on Wednesday.
