Hearts will compensate Medeama for tapping assistant coach Stephen Abugri, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

Abugri has signed a long-term deal with the capital-based side despite being contracted to Medeama.

The former King Faisal trainer had two more years left on his existing deal but jumped the ship to sign for Hearts last week.

Medeama threatened to report Hearts to the Ghana FA but have shelved those plans after the Accra giants agreed to compensate them.

The Tarkwa-based side will thus cash in on Hearts poor handling of the situation.

Abugri was on the verge of being sacked by his former employers and therefore jumped the boat before he was pushed.

The ambitious tactician is expected to bring the experiences he’s garnered over the years to propel his new side to higher heights.
