Defender Kofi Agyare has revealed he was presented with a bribe from Hearts of Oak while he was with Kessben.

The ex Berekum Arsenals player has been tagged as a corrupt player following a series of suspicious own goals especially in the away game against AshantiGold in the just ended Premier League season.

Agyare who now plays for the Phobians without mentioning any names as if making the proverbial pronouncement; “He who is without sin should  cast the first stone” says he was made a lucrative offer to play it soft against Hearts in a Premier League fixture while with the now defunct Kessben.

“I am not one who will keep quiet about a bribe allegation,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“When I was with Kessben, Hearts brought me some money as bribe so they can beat us (Kessben) but I declined.

“As a result I switched off my phone for a whole week.

“Now people are saying I have been frozen out of the Hearts team due to a bribe I took against AshGold.

“I remember sitting in a meeting with Hearts officials over this issue where I made it clear I have not taken any monies.

“How can you work with a player who always take bribes?

“It hurts when you are being tagged as such but I want to make it clear that I don’t take bribes.”

Agyare was purchased form Arsenals last summer to replace then captain Karim Alhassan who had departed for Egyptian giants Zamalek.

He was part of an initial 41-man Ghana squad that took part in the inaugural CHAN competition in Ivory Coast in 2008.
