Hearts will discover today how much of their Ghana Premier League push goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy will miss.

The 24-year-old will undergo further scan on Wednesday after suffering an injury in Sunday’s 3-1 drubbing at Liberty Professionals.

The shot-stopper was rushed to the hospital and replaced by youngster Kingsley Boateng at the Alhaji Sly Tetteh stadium.

“He is going for a scan this morning and at this stage we don’t know the extent of the injury,” Hearts spokesman Muheeb Saed said.

“It is a disappointment for us because he has been doing so well.

“Although it will be a disappointment if we have to miss him for any length of time we know we have other goalkeepers who can step into the side.

“But until we get some details of the extent of the injury I don’t think there is any point speculating on how long he will be out. But maybe two weeks.”

Hearts have already conceded the Premier League crown to rivals Kotoko with seven games to end the season.
