Hearts duo Abanga and Nkrumah close to putting in transfer request

Hearts duo Kofi Abanga and Douglas Nkrumah are considering handing in a transfer request to force a move away from the club during the January transfer window.

The two players have struggled to break into coach David Duncan’s team this season and therefore want to try their luck elsewhere.

Abanga is believed to be interested in a move to his former club Aduana Stars while Hearts want to farm him out on a loan to newly promoted Amidaus Professionals.

Nkrumah was one of the standout players for the capital-based club last season but has surprisingly falling down the perking order.

The former Asante Kotoko midfield star is considering switching camp to join Ebusua Dwarfs next month.

“Yes the two have expressed their wish to move from Hearts,” a source close to Hearts technical team is quoted by 90 Minutes newspaper

“They are aware they don’t feature in the plans of the coach so surely there is no need to keep them here whilst they can be useful to other clubs.”

Abanga joined Hearts from Aduana Stars under controversial circumstances but persistent injuries have blighted his career at the club.
