Hearts and Kotoko have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Kofi Owusu after the in-form Berekum Chelsea striker hinted he could leave the club at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has light up the domestic league with 17 goals for the Blues, just a goal behind Nathaniel Asamoah in the goal king race.

Owusu bagged a brace for the Berekum-based side in their 3-2 defeat at Hearts last Sunday to underline his goal scoring prowess for the Ghanaian side.

Hearts and Kotoko are believed to be interested in the signature of the player with reports suggesting enquiries have been made about his availability.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that the Berekum Chelsea hierarchy will allow him to leave once the prize is right.

The impressive striker has revealed he will leave the Blues if the offer is perfect.

“Am a footballer and am ready to play for any Club whether in the country or outside the country, provided the offer is good for me,” he told Accra-based Atinka Fm.

“I am even ready to play for a division one Club that will present a good offer.”

Owusu, a former teammate of Ghana international Rabiu Mohammed, was named Player of the Month for July in the league.
