Ex-Hearts goalkeepers’ trainer Abubakar Damba has urged the team to stick together during what has so been a testing season.
The Accra-based side have endured a topsy turvy campaign this season and currently lie fourth on the table.
The team was thrown into total confusion last weekend after they were beaten 3-0 by All Stars at home.
The humiliating heightened calls for the dismissal of under-fire coach Mohammed Polo, who has also remained adamant about resigning from the club.
Former Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba, has urged the players to wake up from their sleep to start grinding out results .
“Players should also be responsible for the performances also on the field of play. Even though for me, I always look at the result but what is the performance of the players? Definitely, the performance of the players should also reflect and it was very clear that the players played below average,†Damba told Accra-based Power FM
“This is not Accra Hearts of Oak players playing.
“I can understand and I can forgive the coach (Polo) looking at the fact that he played without six of his regular players but it is no excuse.
“Hearts of Oak players must wake up to the reality and know that they are playing for a very mighty team. If they want to play and get higher, they need to wake up and raise their game.â€
Hearts travel to Dorma to face Aduana Stars in their next fixture in the First Capital Premier League.
