Hearts of Oak captain Moro Abubakar is set to undergo surgery next week, the club has confirmed.

The forceful midfielder has been out with an unspecified injury which saw him dropped from the Ghana squad the CHAN tournament.

Reports however emerged that Abubakar’s long overdue surgery was as a result of lacking funds.

But the club’s Managing Director Neil Armstrong Mortagbe says the only issue delaying the operation is the availability of the medical expert.

“Our club captain Moro Abubkar is set for surgery,” he told at a press conference.

“He was supposed to have it this week but it appears the doctor will not be available.

“But I am sure by next week he can take the surgery and the doctors have told us that after the procedure he should be back within two to three months.”
