Hearts of Oak brushed aside Division One side Elmina Sharks 3-0 in the first group 4 game of the 2015 Elite Cup competition at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Gerald Odupong opened the scoring with a beautiful strike in the 20th minute, before Ashittey Ollenu increased the tally six minutes past the half-hour.

Substitute Kwame Kizito scored with his first touch midway in the second half to make the score emphatic for the Phobians.

The guests were reduced to ten-men in the 78th minute when Samuel Arthur received a second yellow card for handling the ball.

Hearts have been fortunate in the domestic cup competitions this season, having played lower leagues sides in all their FA Cup and Elite Cup competition so far.

The Phobians had knocked out Elmina Sharks in the FA Cup competition some months ago by a lone goal, but they produced a scintillating performance to go past their Group 4 opponents in the Elite Cup.

Hearts will face Ebusua Dwarfs and Medeama in the remaining first round fixture of the Elite Cup group stage competition.
