Owusu Bempah wants referee punished

Hearts of Oak captain Joseph Owusu Bempah wants referee Adu Poku punished for wrongfully dismissing him in the Premier League draw with BA United.

The Phobians needed to fight back with a man down to secure a point from a losing position in Sunyani over the weekend.

Referee Adu Poku awarded the hosts a penalty after which Hearts captain Owusu Bempah was issued a straight red card.

But the full-back claims the referee was extremely biased against his team and that the sending off was a big mistake.

“This referee needs to be punished because he has really hurt my record,” he told Happy FM.

“I am not a dirty player. My record speaks for itself.

“The penalty was not a penalty and the red card was even worse.

“I wished we had cameras on these games to expose some of the poor officiating by some of these referees.”
