Managing Director for Accra Hearts of Oak, Gerald Ankrah has insisted that the new coach of the club will adopt to the players they will recruit for the club despite the coach not having upper hand on the recruitment.

Many have questioned the rationale behind the management of the club recruiting players while no coach has been appointed yet but the MD of the club insists any coach appointed must be able to work with the squad.

In an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com, Gerald Ankrah admitted that the management has commenced the recruitment process even though a substantive coach has not been appointed yet.

“It is true that we have commenced recruitment. But we can’t talk about the players now. We will officially announce any new signing by the club,” Ankrah said.

“Every coach is supposed to mould whatever talent is put at his disposal. For that reason it’s not up to the coach to select players for the club.”

“Afterall if the is not in the coach is not in the country, he wouldn’t know the better materials around. For that reason, we will have to gather the talents for whoever becomes the coach to shape them,” he concluded.

The previous recruitment style of the Phobians has come under immense criticism as coaches like David Duncan and Herbert Addo have complained about the quality of materials in the club during their tenure.
