Kumasi Asante Kotoko returned to winning way in their midweek clash against WAFA at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors were held by minnows Bolga All stars over the weekend and with the Super Clash looming next weekend they needed a win badly to convince the very demanding fans.

Zdravko Logarusic altered his 3-5-2 formation to 3-4-3 with Emmanuel Gyamfi and Ollenu Ashitey flanking Yakubu Mohammed in attack.

The game was bereft of chances.  Logarusic made attacking changes in the 2nd half and it paid off. Winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi who came on for defender Abeiku Ainooson scored the all important winner for the Porcupine Warriors to send them joint top with Aduana Stars who were held to a barren draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

Coach Yusif Abubakari's Aduana Stars failed to score for the first time this season. Coming into the game they had netted 7 goals in their first 3 home games. This will go down a shocking result with Medeama SC themselves not in good form.

Accra Hearts Of Oaks once again showed their inconsistent form losing at the Tema park to Tema Youths.

It took only three minutes for the home side to open the scores through Joseph Paintsil, his 4th of the season.

Thomas Abbey drew Hearts level 3 minutes into the 2nd half but the Phobia boys couldn't hold on allowing Ibrahim Yusif to net the winning goal for Tema Youth in the 75th minute.

The defeat is a heavy blow to the Oak Tree faithfuls as they prepare to face their bitterest rival Asante Kotoko this Sunday in the Super Clash.

Great Olympics once again failed to win, extending their winless run to 7 games. David Amuzu gave them the lead against fellow Accra side Inter Allies but allowed Prince Baffoe to snatch a draw for Inter Allies in the 2nd half. Ebusua Dwarfs earned a vital point away at Wa Allstars.

Striker Nicholas Gyan's 5th goal of the season cancelled out a Paul Asare opener at the Malik Jabir Park. Ashanti Gold recorded their 2nd win of the season at the Len Clay Stadium with a lone goal from Amos Addai.

Berekum Chelsea needed a Brimah Mohammed goal to defeated Bolga Allstars at the Golden City Park.
