Accra Hearts of Oak’s new boy Joseph Esso says he is excited to be returning home to play for his new club saying “I’m happy to be back home.”

Esso lauded the management of the club for their decision to play their home matches at the Cape Coast Stadium in the upcoming season.

Speaking to the media after Hearyts’ 0-1 defeat to Elmina Sharks in a friendly, the former Ebusua Dwarfs playmaker said he was happy with choice of the stadium as he is already familiar with the environment.

“Choosing Cape Coast as our home grounds will help me as an individual. I have played here and I know this stadium very well. It will be useful to us,” he said.

Joseph Esso also dispelled fears of not excelling at Hearts of Oak.

“Hearts of Oak is a big club but I’m not scared because it’s normal to me as a footballer. With help from other colleagues, we can raise the image of the team” he added.

The Phobians have adopted the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as their new home following renovation works at the Accra Sports Stadium by the Sports Ministry.
