Hearts of Oak are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Mighty Jets midfielder Tamimu Muntari.

The diminutive winger caught the eye of coach CK Akunnor after impressing for the relegated Premier League.

Hearts are keen to mount a serious challenge for the title next season and have submitted an offer for the youngster.

The 18-year-old has a year to run on his contract, but has made no secret of his desire to eventually switch to their city rivals.

"We know Hearts are interested but we're considering other offers as well," a source close to the player told GHANAsoccernet.com

Muntari is part of the country's Under-20 side that crashed out of an eight-nation tournament in South Africa on Tuesday night.
