Hearts of Oak have decided to abandon the protest case against Asante Kotoko over the use of Obed Owusu last season.

The Phobians won an initial protest case against their sworn-rivals for fielding the striker, who was declared unqualified by the Disciplinary Committee, in the Ghana League derby.

They were awarded three points; three goals and Kotoko fined GH¢5,000.

But an Appeals Committee ruling overturned the decision and Kotoko regained the points.

Hearts vowed to go to the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) to reclaim the points but have decided to let it go.
