Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo says he is surprised at the lack of action on the part of the Ghana Football Association to promote the Ghana Premier League.

The league is set to start on February 20 but there is no headline sponsor as Capital Bank (then First Capital Plus Bank) withdrew its sponsorship two years into their 5-year deal with the GFA.

Opare Addo says he is taken aback by the inaction on the part of the FA to generate more attention on the league.

β€œIt has become a huge surprise to me that there is not a lot being done to promote the league. We, at Hearts of Oak, have our own strategy in place to hype our own matches but what of the other teams?,” asked Opare Addo in an interview with Metro Television on Tuesday.

"What is the FA also doing? The league is its brand and so, they should be able to market it as well so that when the clubs add a little effort, the result will be very appreciated by all.”

Hearts of Oak start their league campaign against New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium on February 20.
