Senior players at Hearts of Oak have thrown their support behind defender Faisal Yusif after his disastrous howler against Enugu Rangers.

The ex Mighty Jets player who only joined Hearts at the beginning of this season did little to win fans over after his failed attempt to clear a loose ball was dearly punished by Rangers’ Razak Adegbete in Sunday’s centenary match.

The Phobians eventually lost the game 2-1 but the irate fans minced no words at all in castigating the young chap for his unpardonable mistake.

And the player who was so gutted in the dressing room after the game that he declined an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com is getting all the support he needs from his colleagues in dealing with the difficult moment.

“Such things do happen in a game and we as players are not worried at all about that because it happens,” the day’s captain Godwin Osei-Bonsu told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The fact that you make a mistake in a single match does not at all suggest you are a bad player and we as players are firmly behind him during this difficult time.

“He is a young up and coming talent and therefore I am sure he will get over it in a few days.”
