Hearts rake in record $119,000 gate proceeds from Kotoko clash

Hearts of Oak recorded the country's highest ever gate proceeds of US$119,000 from the Ghana Premier League derby against rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The capital club grossed US$ 119,000 (GH¢ 237,700) which was more than the 204,000 Ghana cedis (US$102,000) realized for last season's corresponding fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

MTNFootball.com can confirm Hearts pocketed US$ 50,000 (GH¢ 100,000) after deductions to the National Sports Authority, VAT and 10 % of the gross amount to the Ghana

Hearts sold all 37,250 tickets which the most expensive selling for US$ 15 and the cheapest going for US$ 2.5.

Hearts lost 1-0 to Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Week 2 fixture.
