Hearts of Oak have rubbished claims by ex-midfielder Edmund Copson that he earned no financial reward after winning the 2000 Caf Champions League and Super Cup.

Copson alleged that he was not given a dime although there were reports that each player was paid US$ 25,000.

But the club have moved quickly to pour cold water on his allegations.

"It is absolutely wrong for Copson to suggest that the club owned him for his services during his time with the club. I have done all my checks and nothing point to the fact we owe him," Hearts spokesperson Albert Commey said.

"I don’t know where he got those information from but its unfortunate Copson should make such untrue comment to put the image of the club in bad light.

"I want to repeat that Hearts of Oak does not owe Edmund Copson and I think he should get his fact right before coming out such comment."
