Hearts of Oak have clarified reports surrounding Phillip Boampongâ€™s trip to the United States of America saying had their blessing to travel.
A publication in the state-owned Graphic Sports on Wednesday had suggested the defender had absconded to the States after receiving a US$ 20,000 signing fee.
But they are aware of the whereabouts of the centre-back and squashed reports of the 23-year-old swindling the club.
â€œPhilip is in the U.S with the blessing Hearts trying to secure a deal,â€ Hearts PRO Muheeb Saeed told GHANASoccernet.com
â€œWe were aware during the signing of his contract that he had had an offer for a trying but we went through with the deal
â€œIf he is lucky and impresses we as a club will benefit if it doesnâ€™t happen and he comes back he is our player.
â€œThere is nothing fishy about his absence the club is totally aware of all happenings with him.â€
Boampong was making a return to the club after the expiration of a loan move at Saudi Premier League side Al-Shoalah.
He signed a two-and-a-half year contract.
