Hearts of Oak midfielder Mustapha Essuman says the changing of coaches in the just ended season cannot be used as an excuse for missing out on the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians were led by Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhasi for the first half of the season where they were one point behind Wa All Stars in second place.
Yatsuhashi separated with the club by mutual consent and was replaced by Sergio Traguil, the Portuguese.
But the latter was resigned with three matches to the end of the season and his assistant Yaw Preko took charge.
"It happens all over the world that coaches are changed sometimes. It's up to the player to tune up his mind for any coach that comes," Essuman said.
"I don't think the changes in coaches affected our season."
Essuman was Hearts of Oak's most capped player this season, playing in all 30 league matches.
