Hearts striker Fiamenyo to undergo surgery this week

Gilbert Fiamenyo will undergo surgery on his troublesome  ankle by the close of the week.

The 22-year-old has not kicked a ball for Hearts this season and was hoping to be involved at some point.

Scans have revealed that the problem in the knee has not completely healed and will need a surgery to correct the torn ligament.

Funds have been made available for team doctors to proceed with the operation.

“We are all set for surgery and hopefully it should be done before the close of this week,’ a member of the medical team is quoted by 90 Minutes newspaper.

“We will reposition part of the broken bones and repair some ligament.”

The former Heart of Lions man is expected to fully recuperate in February, 2013
